Local European Solidarity Corps (ESC) project

Art Corner for Youth is a creative programme in Tallinn for young people aged 15–30 who want to explore art in a friendly and accessible way. Twice a month, we will meet for engaging sessions where you’ll learn about different art movements, discover hidden meanings in artworks, and try out creative techniques. We also go together to museums and cultural spaces to explore art in real life.

Our first meeting on 07.12.2025 gives you an introduction to the whole Art Corner experience. You’ll meet the team and other participants, take part in fun ice-breakers, and enjoy a lecture about Realism. It’s the perfect chance to get to know the group, understand how the course works, and see if this journey is right for you.

Project goals
Art Corner for Youth aims to break the stereotype that art history is boring or difficult. We believe it can be fun, inspiring, and full of stories that help us understand the world and ourselves.
-
Our goals are to make art accessible and enjoyable for young people aged 15–30, build their confidence in museums and cultural spaces, and encourage creative self-expression through hands-on workshops and visual journaling.
-
We also want to create a supportive, inclusive community where young people can explore culture, reflect on their emotions, and connect with others. By the end of the project, we hope participants feel inspired, open-minded, and excited to engage with art on their own.

What to expect?
-
A full 12-meeting art course running from December to April, combining engaging lectures, creative workshops, and inspiring museum experiences.
-
First meeting on 7 December: introduction, first lecture, and creative workshop.
-
Free museum visits throughout the project (Kumu, Fotografiska, POCO Art Museum, etc.).
-
You don’t need any background in art or previous knowledge, just curiosity.
-
On-site art lectures & creative workshops twice a month, covering major art movements such as Impressionism, Surrealism, Cubism, Dada, Pop Art, and more.
-
The first meeting is free, all museum visits are free, and the regular on-site lecture + workshop sessions include a small €5 contribution to support materials and preparation.
-
Led by young art professionals, including Polina Borovik, an art history graduate, together with other young people active in the art field.
-
A real creative community: not just a course, but a group of people who grow together, share inspiration, and stay connected through culture and creativity.
-
Hands-on creative practice at every session: pastel drawing, mandalas, collage, painting, art therapy elements, and reflective journaling.
-
We expect participants who register to stay engaged throughout the full programme, so the community grows stronger each month.
-
Official certificates:
-
Participants who attend at least 80% of the meetings will receive a completion certificate issued by Ethos MTÜ.
-
Everyone who takes part will also receive a Youthpass, an official EU certificate recognising the skills and learning outcomes you gained.
-
-
Community-building activities such as film evenings, outdoor drawing sessions, and creative hangouts to help the group bond beyond formal workshops.
-
A final ceremony in spring, celebrating your journey with awards, reflections, and shared creative experiences.
The course will initially take place in English, giving participants a chance to practice and improve their English skills. However, our team also speaks Estonian and Russian, so language will never be a barrier, we will adjust to the needs of the group once it is formed.
