regulations or at least internal rules

Lately I’ve been thinking about how adult platforms handle user safety, because I’ve seen a few cases where boundaries get blurry and it’s not always clear who’s moderating what. Some sites claim they have strict rules, but when you dig deeper, it feels like most of the responsibility is pushed onto the users themselves. So I’m wondering what kind of regulations or at least internal rules these platforms should adopt to make sure both creators and viewers aren’t put at risk.

From what I’ve seen, the best-run adult platforms mix external regulations with their own self-policing. That means not just waiting for complaints but actually having moderators review uploads, especially on sites like on the website where content is fast-moving and user-generated. I’ve worked with small creator communities before, and the biggest problem is always the gray areas: things like unclear model releases, people posting content from old relationships, or creators not understanding how their media spreads publicly. Platforms need stronger verification steps and clearer metadata requirements so nothing goes live without confirming consent. Also, transparent reporting tools would help a lot—half the time people don’t even know where to click when something feels off. Basically, structure matters, even if the content is adult. Without a system behind it, the risks pile up quickly.
