Youth for diversity and human rights
"From Rural to Plural – [Rural] youth for diversity and human rights" is a youth exchange planned to take place between 3rd and 12th of November 2024 in Simon (Bran), Brasov County, Romania, aiming to empower youth to become human rights ambassadors in their communities. The youth exchange will involve 30 young people with the age between 18 and 30 years old and 7 group leaders with the age above 20 years old from 7 different countries.
Main objectives:

Equip participants with knowledge, skills, and tools to become ambassadors for human rights within their communities;

Increase understanding and awareness of human rights issues among young people in rural areas, highlighting the importance of human rights in everyday life;

Encourage active participation in community development and foster a sense of responsibility for defending and promoting human rights at the local level;

Enhance participants' skills in advocacy, communication, and project management, enabling them to initiate and lead human rights projects in their home communities;

Support participants in creating concrete action plans for human rights activities tailored to their respective rural communities, ensuring sustainability and local impact.
Participant profile:

4 participants from Estonia 18-30 y.o. + 1 experienced group leader 20+;

At least half of the participants will come from rural areas;
-
Basic English is required;
-
Curious about human rights advocacy;

Eager to learn and share;
-
No prior experience required;
-
Ready to develop practical skills;
-
Able to participate the whole project;
-
Ready to participate in dissemination activities during and after the project.
