Has anyone here actually switched to an FXReplay alternative

I’ve been trying to reorganize my backtesting routine lately, and FXReplay turned out to be a bit too limited for what I need. Mostly I miss having cleaner historical data and the ability to run tests a bit faster without the browser slowing everything down. Has anyone here actually switched to an FXReplay alternative and noticed a real improvement in workflow? I’m curious what feels different once you move away from the web-only setup.

That’s a good question, and yeah — I eventually moved away from FX Replay after bumping into small workflow issues that kept slowing me down. I still think it’s solid for basic practice, but when I compared it with a few alternatives mentioned here: https://medium.com/@rul.a/best-fx-replay-alternatives-in-2024-my-experience-41f6a1942b65 the differences became pretty noticeable.

What stood out to me most was how some of the newer platforms handle multi-timeframe switching. On FX Replay I always felt like I was “jumping” between views instead of smoothly flowing through a setup. One of the alternatives had this timeline scrubber that let me move forward in tiny increments without breaking the rhythm, which made reviewing entries and exits much more intuitive. Also, the order execution simulation felt closer to the real thing — spreads widening a bit during volatility, partial fills behaving more naturally, stuff like that.

I wouldn’t say the switch magically made me a better trader, but the whole process felt less mechanical. When you spend hours replaying charts, those small quality-of-life improvements really add up.
