At the end of October, another team went to a new project in Sweden, organized by the Awesome People team! For us, the projects in Kopparberg are always very special, not only because they are mainly for minors, but the projects themselves are always very useful and wonderfully organized! Today, the guys share how the project went 🤗
In the Keys2SDGs project, which took place in Kopparberg, Sweden, we learned a lot about SDGs: Sustainable Development Goals. We worked in different teams in order to do different tasks (from solving escape rooms to organising the sustainable event), while we were learning so I did learn a lot about teamwork and distributing responsibilities.
Every day we would rate ourselves on European Key Competences to have a reflection of our progress, which gave us specific details and things we improved in. I liked this project a lot! There were awesome organisers and volunteers, the house had magnificent atmosphere and the people there were unforgettable. I would like to mention some names, such as: Fredrik, Karin, Jurek, Stine, Giorgio, Elene, Alex, Sofia, Alexia, Sara, Tony, Andrei…. and many others! Now I think of going there into a volunteering project next summer… - shares Artur. Who knows, what comes next!
During this week we learned what it is and how we can help this world. There were a lot of positive emotions, communication with people, as well as activities such as: energizers, escape rooms, creating an event, orientation, games by stations, etc. Most of all I remember the "escape rooms", each of which included one goal from SDG’s.
We went through the rooms in different teams, which helped me communicate with people and work in a group to achieve a common goal, as well as find new friends during the project. The project was very useful for me, so I learned how I as teenager can change the world right now. Also it helped me change my daily habits.
Teele T: “The project was very educational and enjoyable. I gained a lot of new knowledge about sustainable development goals and international experience. It was very interesting to meet people from different cultures and to use my English skills, especially since I hadn’t needed them as much before. I was very satisfied with this project and hope to participate in similar projects in the future.”
Daniil: “I have learned that we should sort trash, because it’s better for the environment and also people can buy second hand clothes especially jeans because you save a lot of water. In general the project was very interesting and useful, especially for the future. I have met very good people that I think will be my new friends.”
Teele V: “The project was very fun and a great experience. I got to meet so many new amazing people. I learned a lot about the SDGs and different cultures. I also got to practice my English.”
Thank you, Awesome People, and awesome team of the project that contributed to this positive experience! Now straight to implementing it into our daily life! Stay updated to learn more about it in our dissemination event 😉
